Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop - Gently Falling

Welcome to stop 12 of the Stylin' Stampin' Squad's Blog Hop for September!  If you are hopping in order you have just come from Kim's Blog.  If this is your first stop on the hop, no worries; all the blogs are looped together so you won't miss a thing.

This month we were to make a card and a 3D item with a Fall
or Back to School theme. This also works with the challenge over at The Paper Players.

I think the Gently Falling stamp set is so pretty and after looking around the internet for some inspiration I decided to colour the leaves using my Aqua Painter.  I then cut them out by hand and arranged them so they looked like a pile of leaves.

Stamps:  Gently Falling, Pursuit of Happiness and Woodgrain
Inks:  Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard, Riding Hood Red and Tangerine Tango
Papers:  Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, More Mustard, Riding Hood Red and Watercolor Paper
Accessories:  Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits, Aqua Painters and Paper Snips.

Okay, I don't really do 3D projects.  Not because I don't like to, just haven't gotten that far!  I have been thinking about this for days and finally I remembered something I saw on Pinterest.

Stampin' Up! uses this awesome brown paper to fill up the empty space in the box when they ship out orders.  Sometimes there is a lot of brown paper!  Anyway, I found this really neat project to make fire starters and it allows you to recycle a few different materials.  You take an empty toilet paper roll, stuff it with the lint from your dryer (so cool) and wrap with brown paper, tying each end with baker's twine!
I used a piece of brown paper 8" x 10" and stamped the leaves before I wrapped the toilet paper roll.  I think a basket of those would make an awesome gift!

Stamps:  Gently Falling
Inks:  Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze and More Mustard
Accessories:  Early Espresso Baker's Twine

  5. LOVE, LOVE the fire starter idea! Having a wood burning fireplace I might have to make a bunch of these for us. Although we are campers and all of our children have been taught how to start a fire without a match or lighter i love both the decorative and practical points of fire starters. Thanks so much for inspiring me! :)

  7. I love all of your leaves! Such great coloring! Fire starters! I have never heard of that before. We save up that brown paper and use it to wrap all of our Christmas presents in at the end of the year. It's so cheap!
