Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge

I am so loving these challenges!
Here is another great sketch from Stamping 411.

I just got the Lattice die and thought it would work well with this sketch.

I once again used the awesome Everyday Enchantment DSP - there are just so many options in this paper pack.  With the butterflies on the lattice I thought the cute butterfly brads would work perfectly.
I like it!

Paper:  Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla
Card Stock and Everyday Enchantment DSP
Accessories:  Big Shot, Lattice Bigz Die, Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die, 3/16" Corner Punch, Everyday Enchantment Brads,
Pool Party 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

The Paper Players #84 - Party This Way

It's time for a challenge from The Paper Players today!

Leanne Pugliese is the hostess this week and she
has come up with this fun sketch!
Here is what I came up with...

I wanted to come up with something that could be given to a guy as
we all know masculine cards can be a challenge.
I decided to us the Party This Way stamp set
***which you can earn for FREE during
Sale-a-bration with a $60 product order***
I love the Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade together but it
was missing something so I looked in my handy dandy colour coach
and it suggested using Daffodil Delight.  I think it gives it just the
pop of colour that it was missing.

Stamps:  Party This Way
Ink:  Island Indigo Classic Ink
Paper:  Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Whisper White
Card Stock and the 2011-2013 In-Color Patterns DSP Stack
Accessories:  Modern Label Punch, Large Oval Punch,
Lucky Limeade 1/8" Organdy Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Stampin Queen's Sketch Challenge 27 - Friends Never Fade

I found another sketch challenge!

It is time to share my version of the sketch found at the

I had a clear picture of the colour skeme I wanted to use
including the Paisley Petals DSP for this card.
I was moving right along cutting and adhering all the
necessary pieces when I realized I had not picked out an image or sentiment.  I took a quick flip through the catalogue and the image from Friends Never Faded jumped out and said "Pick me!",
which also made me decide to pop in up using dimensionals.

Stamps:  Friends Never Fade
Ink:  Bravo Burgandy
Paper:  Bravo Burgandy, River Rock and Very Vanilla
Card Stock and Paisley Petals DSP

A Birthday Card from the Past

I am sharing a card that I made for my son's birthday last year and
once again I have no idea where it came from.  I never thought about hosting a blog so I just didn't keep track, so to whoever's idea this is, thank you!

This is a cool fun fold card and I just love the
bright colours in this card!

Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink:  Real Red Classic Ink
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White Card Stock and Big Top Birthday DSP

SUO Challenge 39 - Blossom Party Original Die

Today I am sharing a card I actually made last August
for the little girl I used to babysit.  I have two boys so it was
nice having a little girl in the house a few days a week.
Anyway on with the card...it fits right in over at SU-Only Challenges!

I know I CASEd this for sure and must apologize I don't
remember who's blog I saw this on, but I just love the flowers and in those colours it is just so pretty and of course girly!
It uses a technique called inlaid embossing
(that's what I call it anyway).  I adhered my die cut flowers to a
piece of Whisper White Card Stock then ran it through the
Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

Stamps:  Curly Cute
Inks:  Rose Red Classic Ink
Paper:  Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Wild Wasabi, and Whisper White Card Stock
Accessories:  Big Shot, Blossom Party Original Die, Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Freshly Made Sketches #23 - Fresh Vintage

It's time for another fun sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches!
This week's hostess is Tui Nathan and her sketch was inspired by
paint swatches she saw in her local hardware store.
What a great idea!

We are one month in to Stampin' Up!'s biggest event of the year,
Sale-a-bration, and I keep coming back to the fantastic
products that can be earned for FREE!
My card turned out basically how I envisioned it
this time with the exception of the three flowers across
the bottom.  I originally imagined the card using the
larger blossom but misjudged the size, which is okay as it gave
me the opportunity to used the cute little flower you see.

Stamps:  Fresh Vintage and Happiest Birthday Wishes
Ink:  Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party
Classic Ink Pads and Stampin' Write Markers
Paper:  Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Very Vanilla Card Stock and Everyday Enchantment DSP
Accessories:  1" Square Punch and 3/4" Circle Punch

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Mojo Monday 229 - Kindness Matters

I wanted to share with you a card using one of the
awesome stamps sets from the catalogue that
you can earn for  FREE during Sale-a-bration.
When I saw this sketch designed by Mary Fish for
Mojo Monday I knew right away that I was going to
use my favorite go to DSP, Everyday Enchantment,
along with the Kindness Matters stamp set.

I have to say that these sketch challenges have really
helped me in coming up with cards of my own and
I am liking what I am coming up with.  Now that doesn't
mean that I won't CASE anymore 'cause there are
some awesome cards out there that need to be shared!

Stamps:  Kindness Matters
Inks:  Calypso Coral Classic Ink
Paper:  Soft Suede and Very Vanilla Card Stock and
Everyday Enchantment DSP
Accessories:  Calypso Coral 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon and
Basic Pearl Jewels (largest ones)

White Space

I am part of a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators
known as the Artful*Inkers, lead by Donna Henley.
At the beginning of the year Donna decided to
create a weekly challenge for our group and
this week's challenge is to create a project that has
a lot of white space....think simple, not a lot of "stuff",
minimal layers, minimal embellishments......you get the idea.

You would think a simple card would be, well, simple right?
Not for the brain in my head, that's for sure!
I absolutely love, love, love the Mixed Bunch stamp set,
this image in particular, but would you believe
that it took me forever to come up with this?
I am so used to a card being so much "more" that I
guess I forgot how lovely a "simple" card can be.
My favorite colour is purple and I am really liking
the way this card turned out.  I guess I will have to try the
less is more approach to card making more often.

Stamps:  Mixed Bunch and You're Cherished
Inks:  Perfect Plum Classic Ink
Papers:  Perfect Plum and Whisper White Card Stock
Accessories:  Blossom Punch

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Birthday Cards for Friends

I have a couple of girlfriends that fill this weekend with birthdays,
Tracey's was yesterday and Mary Jane's is today!
I made them both this card based on a card
I found on Kimberly Van Diepen's "Stampin' Up! Cards"
board over on Pinterest.

I just love it!
It seems quite simple but when you take a
closer look it does have a lot on it...
the texture added by the polka dots, the
butterflies and of course those pearls!
I am loving the Everyday Enchantment DSP that you can
earn for FREE when you order $60 of product during Sale-a-bration.
The colours are not ones that I am drawn to normally, so I am
really extra happy with how the cards are turning out!

Stamps:  Bring on the Cake
Ink:  Poppy Parade Classic Ink
Paper:  Pool Party, Poppy Parade and Very Vanilla Cardstock and
Everyday Enchantment DSP
Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder,
Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die, and Basic Pearls Jewels

My Dad asked me to make a card for my Mom's birthday this year.

I CASEd (big surprise) this beautiful card from

I changed the colour scheme and the embossing folder
but everything else about the design is the same.

Stamps:  Apothecary Art
Inks:  Soft Suede Classic Ink, Watercolor Pencils,
Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Markers
Paper:  Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron and Very Vanilla Cardstock
2010-2011 In Color Hostess DSP Pack (retired)

Freshly Made Sketches #22

It is challenge time again with Freshly Made Sketches!
This week's hostess is Jennifer Timko and
she has come up with this great sketch.
Here is my interpretation...

When I first started thinking about what I was going
to do for this card I had a different DSP in mind.
I was browsing through all the DSP in the
2011-2012 Catalogue & Idea Book and when I spotted the
fun Big Top Birthday DSP I knew exactly what I was going to do!
I just love the bright colours of this card.

Stamps:  Sweets for the Sweet
Inks:  Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait, Old Olive, Real Red and Tempting Turquoise Classic Inks
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White and Big Top Birthday DSP
Accessories:  1" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch

Happy Birthday Mom!!

Today is my Mom's birthday!!!
We celebrated with her this past Sunday with a yummy
pork tenderloin meal and of course birthday cake!
My Mom has joined me in the love of stamping so we got her the
Extra Large and Large Tag Punches and the stamp set,
Cherish Friendship, she had been eyeing for a while.
I was also able to pop in two Sale-a-bration stamp sets I had earned,
Fresh Vintage and Elementary Elegance.

Naturally there was a card as well!

I just love this card, it is so pretty and feminine.
It was CASEd from fellow demonstrator
Georgeanne Manning from Boise, Idaho.
I kept the same layout, but added a layer of Soft Suede
to allow the Very Vanilla pop a little bit more.
I also decided to colour in the dots of the
poinsettias to help them pop more too.

Stamps:  Four Frames, Tagtastic
Ink:  Soft Suede Classic Ink and Stampin' Write Marker
Paper:  Blushing Bride, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla
Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder,
Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, Boho Blossoms Punch,
Owl Builder Punch, Cupcake Builder Punch,
Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Blushing Bride 1/2" Stitched-Poly Ribbon

Valentine's Day Cards

 Happy Valentine's Day!!!
These are the other two cards I made at my Valentine's Day Class.

I am really pleased with the way this card turned out.
I have seen a few different cards out there using the
(I used VersaMark Ink and ran it through the Big Shot),
but I wanted to keep the overall design kind of simple.
I decided to punch out two hearts using the
one in Basic Black and one in Whisper White Card Stock.
I then layered hearts using the Heart Punch and the
Red and Silver Glimmer paper.

I CASEd this beauty from Jenni Ingerick.
This adorable card uses our fun Heart Treat Cups,
which fit through the space made with our Heart Punch.
The tab on the right hand side slides out so the recipient can
remove the candy without destroying the card!
If you need to mail a card like this to
someone we have padded envelopes so the treat cup
will fit and hopefully won't get flattened!

Freshly Made Sketches #21

It's time for another fun challenge from Freshly Made Sketches!
Lesley Croghan is our hostess again this week with her sketch "Seeing Double".
Here is what I came up with...

I knew as soon as I saw this sketch I wanted to use the
Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper as well as
the 1/8" Organdy Ribbon exclusive to Sale-a-bration.
It is funny how I can struggle to come up with a
card one time and I have a clear vision another time!
I am so glad I found these challenges because
they have really helped me come up with some ideas of my own.

Stamps:  Fresh Vintage
Ink:  Baja Breeze and Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write Markers
Paper:  Very Vanilla and Baja Breeze Cardstock and Everyday Enchantment DSP
Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die, Pinking Hearts Border Punch 1-3/4" Circle Punch and Lucky Limeade 1/8" Organdy Ribbon.

Another Valentine's Day Class Card

Today I would like to share another card we made at my
Valentine's Day Class last Sunday afternoon.

This card is CASEd from Linda Wicks,
a fellow demonstrator from New York.
Although I did make a few changes, it is pretty much the same.
The card base is from the Everyday Elegance Simply Sent Kit,
***which you can earn for FREE with a
$60.00 product order during Sale-a-bration!***
The sentiment is from the Sale-a-bration
Exclusive stamp set Outlined Occasions.
The hearts are created using the new
found in the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalogue.

SUO Challenge 38 – A Valentine With Two Colors

I held my Valentine's card class this past Sunday and one of the cards we made will work perfectly for the  Stampin' Up! Only Challenge this week.  The design team asked us to create a Valentine's Day card using two main colours along with a neutral or two.

What do you think?
I used our marvelous markers to colour each heart on the
Candy Conversations a la carte stamp from the

A cute simple card for a fun holiday!

Ink:  Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral,
So Saffron and Wisteria Wonder marvelous markers
