Mojo Monday 251 meets Dynamic Duos 13 with Clockworks

Today I made a card for my brother's birthday using two challenges:  Mojo Monday and Dynamic Duos.

I thought the sketch over at Mojo Monday really suited the Monochromatic Colour scheme over at Dynamic Duos being that I needed to make a masculine card.

I used Early Espresso Embossing Powder (from the 2012 Holiday Mini) for the watch and sentiment and cut the watch out and popped it up on dimensionals.

Stamps:  Clockworks and Itty Bitty Banners
Inks:  Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Classic Inks and
VersaMark
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla Card Stock and
Neutrals DSP Stack
Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Pennants Die, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Bitty Banners Framelits, Heat Tool, Early Espresso Embossing Powder

Triple Time Stamping - Reason to Smile

There is a really cool stamping technique going around the Stampin' Up! community right now called Triple Time Stamping.  It is a technique shown by Dawn Olchefske and she has an awesome video that can be found on her website if you want to give it a try.

This is the card I made using the Triple Time Technique and the Reason to Smile stamp set.  The card comes together very quickly and is very effective.  Unfortunately, the little flowers I stamped using Pink Pirouette Classic Ink does not show up as much as I had hoped but I really like the Primrose Petal and Raspberry Ripple inks together for the flowers.

Remember, our Reason to Smile promotion ends this coming Tuesday, July 31st!!!  When you spend just $60 on any Stampin' Up! product, you can order the Reason to Smile stamp set - up to a $25.95 value - for just $5!!!

After reaching $60 on your order, simply enter item 131274 for wood mount or item 131275 for clear mount.

Stamping 411 #265 - World Treasures

It has been a while since I've done a challenge!  I liked this week's sketch over at Stamping 411 this week so decided to give a shot.

Here is what I came up with

Many ideas I have seen using this image have the peacock's feathers layered.  Me being the crazy one decided I was going to painstakingly colour each layer with a different colour found in the DSP International Bazaar.  It did take a bit of time and when I found I went outside the boundary I simply used a blender pen to remove the unwanted colour from the rubber.  It worked like a dream.

Stamps:  Itty Bitty Banners and World Treasure
Inks:  Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Pacific Point, Pool Party,
Rich Razzleberry and Tangerine Tango Stampin' Write Markers and Pacific Point Classic Ink
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango and Whisper White Card Stock and International Bazaar DSP
Accessories:  Big Shot, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelits, Finishing Touches Edgelits, 3-1/2" Circle Die

Elmo Birthday Card

It seems the Elmo birthday card in it's many forms has been around for quite a while and it only now that I have made one.  It is my nephew's 2nd birthday today and I though he would enjoy opening an envelope to find Elmo smiling back at him!

When I was looking for the measurements I came across an Elmo easel card and that is what I have recreated above.  It took a
couple of tries with the measurements and a bit of trimming so
the "background" of the easel did not show around Elmo's head
but it was well worth the extra steps.

Stamps:  Sweet Shoppe Alphabet Upper (retired)
and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks:  Basic Black
Paper:  Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and
Whisper White Card Stock
Accessories:  Big Shot, Scallop Circle Die, 3-1/2" Circle Die, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch

A Father's Day Card...a little late, I know!

I have not been posting much lately and much of that is due to the fact that I have not done much creating lately.  I did, however, make a card for Father's Day for the boys to give to their Dad.

I saw this card on Mary Fish's blog and just loved it!
I used the new Argyle embossing folder instead of the
Houndstooth one, but it is pretty much the same.

Stamps:  Best Dad Ever
Inks:  Night of Navy and Real Red Stampin' Write Markers
Paper:  Night of Navy, Real Red and Whisper White Card Stock
Accessories:  Argyle Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Reason to Smile

It was my parents 57th wedding anniversary earlier
this month and this is the card I made for them.

I found this card on Pinterest (I just love all the ideas I find there) and it turns out it is by Teneale Williams.  I have long admired her work and the only difference between the two cards is the size of the card.

I used the Reason to Smile stamp set which you can purchase for only $5 with a minimum $60 order...but only until July 31st, 2012!  Please visit my online store to place your order today!

Stamps:  Reason to Smile, Friendly Phrases
Inks:  Island Indigo and Pool Party Classic Inks
Paper:  Island Indigo, Pool Party and Whisper White Card Stock
Accessories:  Pool Party Baker's Twine
